A subsidiary of Tata Steel, Tata Metaliks Limited has its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at Kharagpur, West Bengal, India which produces the finest quality of pig iron and ductile iron pipes in India. The plant’s annual hot metal production capacity is 550,000 tonnes out of which 250,000 tonnes per annum is value added into ductile iron pipes and 300,000 tonnes per annum is cast into pig iron. Pig iron is used as raw material for manufacturing various kinds of castings by foundries while ductile iron pipes are used for conveyance of water and sewage. Tata Metaliks’ pig iron, known as “Tata eFee” and ductile iron pipes, sold under the brand “Tata Ductura”, are known for their superior quality standards amongst the customers in the industry. Job Description
Department / Project: Maintenance
Reporting to: Head - Maintenance
Purpose of role:
- Ensure safe working procedure is maintained and work is carried out as per SOP only.
- Updating SOP and HIRA as per company’s policy.
- Ensure availability of the equipment & WPC as per Departmental ABP target.
- Also address the customer complaints & try to rectify those as soon as possible to reduce MTTR.
- Do the equipment failure analysis & reduce no.of break down.
- Prepare the overall maintenance plan.
Accountability and associated responsibilities:
- Preparation of documents required for audit and statutory compliance.
- ABP planning for the function concerned.
- Function related documentation for Audit, TPM and regular work.
- LEVEL-2 shutdown planning for Monthly and annual shutdown.
- Lead the projects like TPM, SHIKHAR, Automation and Digitization etc. to improve the work standard in his area.
- Continuous improvement of the maintenance processes to improve reliability and availability and reduce the total maintenance costs of assets and services.
- Root Cause Analysis and develop the Corrective/Preventive action plans for failures as per the RCA policy and to ensure implementation of CAPA findings.
- Ensure quality work by regular inspection for all maintenance activities in the perimeter of the dedicated assets.
- Identification of unsafe conditions and rectification of the same in areas under his purview.
- Ensure safety clearance, proper usage of PPEs, tools and tackles and safe execution of jobs.
- Monitor equipment at site as per schedule and checklist; identify abnormalities, defects, immediate intimation to area in-charge.
- Ensure optimum utilization of resources (manpower and spares).
- Ensure proper housekeeping in the area after the jobs are over.
- Ensure Overhauling of machines and availability of spares as per requirement, tagging of machine components.
- Job planning during shutdowns and for regular monthly maintenance. Revision of procedures and work instructions.
- Keeping record for availability of Blast Furnace related to maintenance.
- Preparation and updating daily maintenance plan .
- Preparation of CBM/TBM schedule and review and updating its compliance.
- Review of SOP in consultation with concerned HOD’s and updating the same as per requirement.
Authority:
- Issuing of work permit
- Certification of completion of contractor’s jobs.
Qualification-·
- B. Tech/B.E in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 year’s Maintenance experience in steel plant.

Key Competencies:
Good knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
Good Knowledge on Maintenance management systems.
Knowledge on Blast furnace related equipment maintenance
