Tata Steel Long Products Limited (TSLP), formerly known as Tata Sponge Iron Limited, is in the business of manufacturing high alloy steel, primarily for the auto sector and wire rope industry. With one million tonne capacity, it is one of the largest speciality steel plants in India in the long product segment. The steel plant uses high-quality iron ore from its captive mine enabling it to achieve high consistency in its product quality. The steel plant set up at Jamshedpur is the first steel plant in India to use Hot Metal in Electric Arc Furnace that has become an industry-wide practice now. Besides, the company also manufactures and markets sponge iron for use by the secondary steel sector and has a total capacity of 0.90 million tonnes – production units are located in Jamshedpur and Joda. The company also generates power from the latent heat generated inside its furnaces, which is primarily used for captive consumption.
The Context / Purpose of the Job:
Understanding the customer needs/ requirements and simultaneously communicate to Plant for quality of production. Acting as an interface between Plant and Customer and frequently visiting customers for any new development or any issues facing from customers’ end. Timely response & resolution of customer complaint analysis & it’s closer with Customer. Ensuring compliance to BIS & IATF norms.
Job Responsibilities:
- Quality Improvement & Technical Support: To achieve Lowest PPM by proper communication of customer requirement to plant & Immediate action to resolve the issue of customer.
- Getting customer's new requirement & communicating with plant & checking the capability & making trial plan.
- Conducting trial at customer's end as per agreed feasibility report & Submitting feedback to plant/marketing team about new product trial.
- New/Existing Customer visit as per target plan for overall customer satisfaction.
- Attending complaints within 24 hours. Interaction with plant QA/TG team for quick resolution of complaints & Following-up for CAPA/Sample analysis.
- Monthly quality meeting to resolve issues/feedback on previous quality issues & to understand customer's requirement.
- Health and Safety: 24 hrs. Personal safety during travel/customer visit.

- CTC 10 - 14 lacs
- 3 to 8 Years Experience in Product Application Group (PAG)
- Education Qualification- B.Tech / B.E Metallurgy
- Experience with compliances of BIS & IATF
- Knowledge of Steel making & Rolling process
- Knowledge of product application, Process at customer end & Quality Function.
- Knowledge of IATF requirement & Qualification.
