We are Looking Divisional Manager – Marketing & Sales in Kolkata with 5 - 10yrs Experience in Sales and Marketing, Experience in formulation of ABP and 5-year plan creation.

Tata Steel Long Products Limited (TSLP), formerly known as Tata Sponge Iron Limited, is in the business of manufacturing high alloy steel, primarily for the auto sector and wire rope industry. With one million tonne capacity, it is one of the largest speciality steel plants in India in the long product segment. The steel plant uses high-quality iron ore from its captive mine enabling it to achieve high consistency in its product quality. The steel plant set up at Jamshedpur is the first steel plant in India to use Hot Metal in Electric Arc Furnace that has become an industry-wide practice now. Besides, the company also manufactures and markets sponge iron for use by the secondary steel sector and has a total capacity of 0.90 million tonnes – production units are located in Jamshedpur and Joda. The company also generates power from the latent heat generated inside its furnaces, which is primarily used for captive consumption.

Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job:

Facilitate market & product development by identifying new segments to serve / target new customers, promote new product development for enhancing value proposition to customer and coordinate with plant and Technology Group for development of new products. 

Provide Inputs for long term growth plans by ensuring Market and customer projections, analysis of Future trends of steel usage in industry and identification of investment opportunities for company

Key Accountabilities:

  • Business Analytics & Reviews – Creating volume Ramp-up plans, Product Mix Plans. Review of Marketing & Sales monthly.
  • Leading Customer Engagement Programs – Driving Value initiatives thru CSTs and VAVE programs. Building plans for Top & Senior management connect with key customers.
  • Business Development -- Build seeding strategies for growth for SBQs and Wire Rods into New Markets (Automotive, Off Highway and Engineering Segments) Drive New Approvals in OEs & Tier 1 Customers Collaborate with Sales Team & TG team for New Product Development
  • Provide inputs for formulation of ABP and 5-year plan, with regards to tracking competitors’ moves in the industry, tracking of customer performance to develop effective strategy for protecting share of business and optimize resource allocation for meeting the targets.
  • Strategy & Growth -- Build and Execute Strategies to Enhance Market Reach Improve Brand Positioning Develop Market plan for New Projects
  • Initiate projects to drive process improvement for customers. Facilitate value management activities to provide non-pricing value to customer. Implementation of value providing ideas across supply chain.
  • Profit Maximization -- Enhancing Market mix Improving Product mix Strengthening New customer acquisition.
  • Market Intelligence -- Real Time tracking of competition Sales, Production Insights & Price positioning Build Export Business and Drive Customer Acquisition

  • Must be B.tech + MBA in M&S.
  • 5 - 10yrs Experience in Sales and Marketing
  • Experience in Leading Customer Engagement Programs
  • Experience in formulation of ABP and 5-year plan creation
